When
your website design and build is complete, for people to be able
to view it, it will need to be "published"
onto the World Wide Web. The website needs to be "stored"
on a Web server to give web users access to it, so that they can
view it. This is called "Hosting". It is similar to
when a book is published, it gets printed, then it needs to be
accessible to the public either by a bookshop "hosting"
it to enable people to view it prior to buying, or it could be
"hosted" by a public library to allow free viewing.
Either way it needs to be "hosted" somewhere for the
public to be able to gain access to it. This is the same
for all websites.
Your Hosting Options:
1. Host
It Yourself.
If you have your own web servers you
could host the site yourself.
2.
Have Another Company
Host It For You.
Another option is to administer
the hosting of your website yourself with a different hosting
company. You would take your
completed website "saved" for you onto
a CD-Rom and once you have settled on which
hosting company to use, they will upload it to their hosting servers
for you.
3.
Have SB Host It For You
SB Website Designers offer
very competitive hosting package rates to
host the website on your behalf.
Having your own web server is expensive
to run and time consuming to maintain. Taking your website away
and arranging to have it hosted by another
company is also time consuming and not without its own headaches.
Having your complete package of design and hosting "done
under one roof" by SB keeps
the whole thing simple from start
to finish and takes away any worry from you.
