Consultation
Visit.
We come to you to discuss your requirements, (or this can be done
over the telephone/by email if you require a simple site). Choose
from one of our standard designs or if you prefer, have your own
individual site designed. On the visit, our company representative
will gather all the necessary information and photographs to enable
us to design and build your website.
They will confirm what domain name you would
like to have for your website (e.g.www.sbwebsites.co.uk)
and your site hosting requirement once it is
designed. At this stage you can also alert us as to whether you
will require SB Website Designers to maintain
or make subsequent regular updates to your website and if you
will require an email address(es). (see
pricing)
Website
Design And Hosting.
We aim to have your website designed as soon as possible (usually
within one - two working weeks). Design time is dependant on various
factors such as the size and complexity of your website, or whether
you choose a standard or custom design. Once your website is provisionally
completed, you will be shown the "end" product for your
approval. At this stage if there are any final changes or additions
that you desire, they can be noted and addressed. When you are
satisfied with the final design, we will publish your website
onto the internet with your desired host or we can host it for
you ourselves. (see Hosting)
Website
Administration, Updates and Maintenance.
Once your website is published on the World Wide Web, we will
submit its address to the main UK search engines for you. If it
requires regular updates or changes, SB Website Designers
will gladly undertake this for you for an agreed fee or with prices
starting at £15 per hour
"Can we update it ourselves?"
We get asked this often. If you have the relevant software and
skills for using that software or working with html coding
then yes, we will give you your own access and passwords to your
websites ftp location. However, we do not advise this. We have
had site owners come back requesting us to "fix" their
website after performing their own updates which has cost them
more in time and money than if we had done the updates for them
initially. It is entirely your choice though. There would be nothing
to stop you sending an employee on a web designing course to enable
correct "in house" updating. We do not train or run
courses at SB Website Designers.
Logo
Design .
If you do not already have a logo, we can design one for your
website to your specifications at your request. Just ask for prices
on our consultation visit. Prices are not fixed as a logo can
be as simple or as complex as the company desires.
